Maks is the Senior Vice President and Head of AI at Layer 6, TD Bank's AI Center of Excellence. He earned his PhD from the University of Toronto, where he was part of the Machine Learning Group led by Geoffrey Hinton. Maks has prior experience at Microsoft Research and Credit Suisse in London, UK. He is a three-time winner of the ACM RecSys Challenge, a prestigious international competition in Recommender Systems, and has won multiple other international machine learning competitions. He has published over 50 papers and is a co-inventor of over 130 patents.
