Veronica Marin is the Manager of the Advanced Algorithms group at Thales Canada Transportation Solutions, and a Design Authority in Safe Autonomous Systems. She leads an international team focused on leveraging state-of-the-art ML/AI technologies for safety-focused rail transportation applications. In addition, Veronica leads company-wide initiatives for mastering AI competences to bring AI-enhanced products and services to customers around the world.

Veronica has worked closely with academic and industrial partners to define collaborative projects that advance robust, innovative, certifiable solutions for rail transportation. She has served as a member of the Vector Institute accreditation committee reviewing new academic offerings in Machine Learning.

Before joining Thales in 2017, Veronica received her PhD in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto, where she developed computer vision systems and algorithms for 3D sensing with microscopic precision.
